My Review on Modern Times
I enjoyed Modern Times; Chaplin put on a wonderful performance. His acting was phenomenal and he made a good point about how workers don't really have a voice and its only the boss that has a say in what you can and cannot do. I thought the character was funny and the movie had a lot of messages embedded into it. One message that Chaplin gave was to keep smiling, even during the hard times. I personally really liked that message because it gives positivity to the audience and reminds one that everybody has their own struggles and its important not to let those struggles take up all your happiness because you will overcome them. As a comedy, I think the movie was great; it touched base with different kinds of humor and made sure that everybody laughed at something. Would I watch it again? Yes, more than likely. I will probably watch it on a rainy day when I want to get in a good mood. Honestly, it was the first silent film by Chaplin that I had ever seen and I loved it.
